The word of God (Holy Bible) reveals the true way to get to heaven and the truth about Jesus. As God is the Holy author of His word, He instructs us with warnings in several scriptures throughout the bible to NOT change, modify, remove, or add to His words and instructions or if performed we would receive His wrath. As we read in Revelation 22:18-19, “For I testify to everyone who hears the words of the prophecy of this book: If anyone adds to these things, God will add to him the plagues that are written in this book; and if anyone takes away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part from the Book of Life, from the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.” We also see the same instructions as we read in Deuteronomy 4:2, “You shall not add to the word that I command you, nor take from it, that you may keep the commandments of the LORD your God that I command you.” The bible also tells us that God’s word is the truth and everlasting in Proverbs 30:5-6, “Every word of God proves true; he is a shield to those who take refuge in him. Do not add to his words, lest he rebuke you and you be found a liar.” In Psalms 119:160, it states “The sum of your word is truth, and every one of your righteous rules endures forever.” The bible also tells us that God’s word is living and powerful as we read in Hebrews 4:12, “For the word of God is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing to the division of soul and of spirit, of joints and of marrow, and discerning the thoughts and intentions of the heart.” All biblical scriptures from the Holy Bible are true and are God’s holy words as stated in 2 Timothy 3:16-17, “All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work.”
God also tells us that His word will remain forever as stated in Isaiah 40:8, “The grass withers, the flower fades, but the word of our God will stand forever.” Again, in Matthew 24:35, it states “Heaven and earth will pass away, but My words will by no means pass away.” And in Psalms 119:89, it states “Forever, O LORD, your word is firmly fixed in the heavens.” God’s word is even described as a lamp for us in darkness – Psalms 119:105. So, if God’s word is true, alive, powerful, and everlasting, then what does it say about how to get to heaven? Can we get to heaven by performing good works daily and by actively tithing to our local church? No, we cannot get to heaven by our own good works alone or by faithfully tithing. We can only get to heaven by one true, Savior and Messiah, Jesus Christ (the Son of God), as we read in John 3:16-17: “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son (Jesus), that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. For God did not send His Son (Jesus) into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.” Over 2,000 years ago, when Jesus walked on the earth with His disciples, He explained that He was the only way and truth to heaven and that Father God gave Him all authority, as stated in John 14:6: “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father (God) except through Me.” Also, Simon Peter, one of Jesus’s disciples, stated in Acts 4:12: “Nor is there salvation in any other, for there is no other name (Jesus) under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.” Paul, another apostle of Jesus Christ, stated in 1 Thessalonians 5:9-10: “For God did not appoint us to wrath, but to obtain salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ, who died for us, that whether we awake or asleep, we should live together with Him.” The bible clearly explains that there is only one way to get into heaven and it is through our Lord and Savior, Jesus! He is the only way and the truth, a gift from God to us, and by the grace of God is the only way we can be saved by faith, belief, and trust in our Lord Jesus. We did not deserve this free gift (Jesus) from God because we are all full of sin and deserve only death and destruction, but because of God’s unconditional love for us, He sacrificed His only Son Jesus to die in our place.
For we have all sinned and fall short of the glory of God – Romans 3:23. The bible also tells us in Romans 6:23: “For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.” Only Jesus can blot out and pay the price for our sins. We cannot overcome our sin by our own good works or tithing. We cannot buy our way into heaven, nor will we get to heaven because of who we are, Americans, Africans, Asians, Jews, Gentiles, Greeks, Indians, Muslims, etc. We are all doomed to hell and destruction. The bible tells us that we are all sinners and we are foolish in deceiving ourselves if we think that we are without sin as stated in 1 John 1:8-10, “If we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. If we say we have not sinned, we make Him a liar, and His word is not in us.” For even Satan and his fallen angels (demons) believe in one God and His only Son Jesus and tremble at the name of Jesus. For if we believe that there is one God is good and we do well for even the demons believe and tremble – James 2:19. Jesus is the only way to heaven!, as we read in Romans 10:9-13: “..if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes and is justified, and with the mouth one confesses and is saved. For the Scripture says, ‘Everyone who believes in him will not be put to shame.’ For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek; for the same Lord is Lord of all, bestowing his riches on all who call on him. For ‘everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.’” The Old Testament prophet Isaiah, God’s ordained prophet, provided bible prophecy scriptures of the coming Messiah Jesus approximately 700 years before it happened – Isaiah 7:14 and Isaiah 9:6-7.
God warns us in several scriptures of false doctrines, false teachings, false religions, false ministries, deceivers, and antichrists that will appear and mislead many from the truth as we read in Matthew 7:15, “Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravenous wolves.” The bible gives us a clear understanding of the darkness found in the antichrists as we read in 1 John 2:22, “Who is the liar but he who denies that Jesus is the Christ? This is the antichrist, he who denies the Father and the Son.” The bible tells us that there will be many deceivers who will deny Jesus as the true Messiah as stated in 2 Peter 2:1, “But there were also false prophets among the people, even as there will be false teachers among you, who will secretly bring in destructive heresies, even denying the Lord (Jesus) who bought them, and bring on themselves swift destruction.” These other religions and societies are where the people are turning away from the biblical truth and are satisfying their own worldly and lustful passions as we read in 2 Timothy 4:3-4, “For the time is coming when people will not endure sound teaching, but having itching ears they will accumulate for themselves teachers to suit their own passions, and will turn away from listening to the truth and wander off into myths.” The bible warns us of the evil deception that ultimately comes from Satan himself as stated in Jude 1:4, “For certain people have crept in unnoticed who long ago were designated for this condemnation, ungodly people, who pervert the grace of our God into sensuality and deny our only Master and Lord, Jesus Christ.” These deceitful people will deceive many and will appear to be disciples of Christ as explained in 2 Corinthians 11:13-15, “For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into apostles of Christ. And no wonder! For Satan himself transforms himself into an angel of light. Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also transform themselves into ministers of righteousness, whose end will be according to their works.” These false teachers and the ones who are misled will experience hell and destruction if they never follow the truth. We are to test all spirits, teachings, and doctrines according to the word of God in order to decipher whether from the truth or deceptions (wolves in sheep’s clothing).
Jesus is the truth, the life, and the only way to heaven! Jesus is the word of God as we read in John 1:1-5, “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made. In Him was life, and the life was the light of men. And the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it.
